Tas,

I seem to remember you ribbing me on the etecs out on sunshine in Page's boat! How the tables may turn.
I have heard that the websters roll over a fair bit in the turns but only to a point. The etecs are pretty solid. I have yet to have any drama from the two 50hp I have on my little CCC Cat. Their hulls are powder coated I beleive and solid build.
The only thing I will say is that the etecs plugs are usually shot around 150 hr mark.

Hello Tassie,
I have a 4.3m Webster and am very pleased with it.
Super stable, very soft riding and it never broaches.
Can be wet and it does lean the wrong way in turns.
I have tested it with a high speed full lock turn, didn't flip (I'm still here).
I assume that the 4.9 would be even better.

Tassie - my old man has a 4.9 runabout with a 90 Tohy. Goes well, punches above its weight until the waves get higher than the tunnel throat and then gets a little upset. Luvs running downhill but hates corners.

That 75 maybe a little on the low HP side but still should go well.

Tas,
I have approx 200hrs on them now and no probs to date. Mate down the coast has a 60hp done near 1000hr and still pushes hard. He has the same prob with them blowing their plugs around every 150 hrs or so. I just bought a spare set and kep them on board. I think they are a great engine but I probably would buy a four stroke in a bigger block, say anything over 100hp.
I would be keen for a go in another type of tin cat to do a comparison to mine. One without the hydrofoils. Especially for a speed test. It WILL be a lot slower in the bay but fast as the rest off shore with all the stability.

Hello Tassie,
I have a 60hp Yamaha 2 stroke, which is plenty.
Cruise 18 knots at 4000rpm, max is 27 knots ate 5250.
Will plane at 11 knots and 3000 rpm.
Four passengers hardly notices.

A 4.9 is a much larger boat than a 4.3, would a 75 be enough?, try it and see.

Tassie,
Go to utube punch in webster twinfisher, click on Inverlock marine and watch a guy put a 4.9 thru its paces. I have a 5.2 webster cuddy with a 115 4 st and it needs it. They are a stable tough platform. Some blokes rave about the ride in chop, i find they are still a tinny and they perform like a tinny. Not even close to
a glass cat or tri-hull.

cheers.

Tassie how old is the hull and motor, the boats have had a few changes of recent years.
