Networking a HDS5 to a HDS 5x

Have upgraded software on HDS5x as per www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/showthread.php?t=159704 (http://www.ausfish.com.au/vforum/showthread.php?t=159704) so that both have same version. Had same issue with SD card but got a reformated 1GB Sandisk SD card to work.

Finally don't get error meassages on both units saying that can't communicate with other unit due to software version mismatch. However, I can't get the 5x to display GPS information from the 5. Checked the device list and can't see either unit in each other's device list. Tried the Auto Configure, but no difference.

Any ideas on what I need to configure?

if you hit auto configure it will reset all source selections and remove all instances on all HDS units. (BAD)

Go into data sources, and see if the other unit is available, you should see GPS.

I would suggest you follow page 106 of the HDS 8 manual, that explains the process, you will need to create a new data source instance.
