Northstar 538 or what?

Looking at getting a Northstar 538 GPS, are they any good or for the price is there another brand that's better on the market for around the same price?
Approx $430 I can get it for.
Also I have heard that Northstar won't exist soon, is this right?

I have one in the big boat that I use for the fuel computer only, for some reason it was cheaper to buy the GPS with fuel computer built in than the standalone fuel computer....

I've had no problems with it finding position and the speed and position is always the same as the Lowrance GPS i use for nav. The screen is bright easy to read in sunlight, and a good backlight for night operation as well.

Shop around they were a bit cheaper than your price when I brought mine around April/May last year
