I have just purchased a HDS 5. Am I able to display tacho, trim level and wngine hours on this from a Mercury 4 stroke 115HP 2009 model? If so how? Regards Adam

Lowrance do not make an engine interface cable for mercury / nmea 2000.

If Mercury can supply an engine interface cable that connests to nmea 2000 then yes, it can happen.

I haven't been asked to hook one up to HDS ... most people seem to be going with the smart craft electronic gauges.

Cheers

Pete

Mate,
I have the same drama with my 175 suzy, lowramce do not make a interface cable that connects to my motor that I am aware of. Apperantly you can purchase an interphase lead from lowrance but you have to botch all your wiring harness on your motor with Yamy plugs to fit it up.

I dont know about your engine model and it somewhat defeats the purpose, but mecury now support nmea 2000 through their smart craft guages..

Popeye,

It can be done and its not that difficult, you need an engine interface cable from browns point marine in the US, and a yamaha gauge harness plug. Having the information on displayed on your unit is really useful, particularly the fuel consumption.
