just wondering if its posible to convert a 30 hp 2st yammy long shaft to an extra long shaft length, what it would involve and a rough guide to cost?
or would it be better to get a new donk?
(lowering the motor is not an option)
thanks

I don't think they even make a extra Long Shaft until about 90hp
647 mm (25.5 in)

there only 545 mm (21.5 in) if there smaller motors.
(or there short shaft 424 mm (16.7 in))

Some are 22.5 the 60hp i think.

but i have been wrong before.

I havent seen any Yammy 30 XLS around... I have same motor (Yammy 30 CV) in long shaft.

Anyway to convert, if an XLS is indeed available, you basically need a conversion kit which is essentially the longer lower leg, as well as a longer drive shaft rod. I think that is pretty much all you need. But somehow I dont think XLS is available as Spin mentions...

In which case, best to get a new donk of a brand that has a 30 XLS.

kind of doubt you will ever get an XL in that hp, there was few sail drives about (for yachts) but unsure what HP or brands are about these days.

If your problem is simply that you can't mount it low enough spend th money on a set back bracket or rise and fall hysdraulic one - someone will know the brands that escape my barain after a beer or several

If your problem is too much splash on the powerhead there are other ways to skin a cat.

What hull needs a 30 inch in a 30hp to push it?.
