Just did a quick calculation of how the February rainfall (so far) has affected the barra impoundments from Tinaroo to Monduran.

As at today's date there has been over 275,000ML of water added to our dams this month! Most of that (over 151,000ML):o has gone into Awoonga with another 88,000ML going into Monduran. Awoonga is up over 3.3m at 67% of capacity and Monduran is up over 4m:o .

Tinaroo has been rising steadily while Teemburra and Kinchant are full or nearly full again. Peter Faust has also had a healthy inflow.

All bodes well for our barra fisheries for 2010....;D

Bloody hell Peter that's a lot of water between the fish mate, but what it will do is allow the whole system to grow, bait fish etc, makes for a very healthy fishery.

Cheers,
John.

We're struggling to get over 85% atm, just over 9,000 gigs storage. Olga was heading this a way then did that about turn and ran down through Qld and NSW. Don't mind too much the rain fell where it was badly needed.

Long tern looks good for the back end of Feb and March for us, we need another metre or two in the dam.

About 8 days with no rain atm, hot and sticky, people have the look of murder in their eyes>:(

Lake Awoonga has exceeded 70% cap and is well on its way to a record level recorded back in March 2003 of 75%. Lots of extra water and barra structure now for them to hide in. Who's to say what level the lake will be at the end of the summer storm season.
