Only saw this movie a few weeks ago and really made me stop and think, maybe it's been done before but what is everyones fishing "Bucket list".

I've been pretty fortunate to have ticked most of mine off by accident over the years but still have a bonefish on fly (planning new calendonia this September), a "Hobart" (Sydney to Hobart yacht race)...yes I know it's not fishing but it is related and planned for 2011 and a big trout in a NZ crystal clear stream....one day!!

mine..nothing.
Have done a few other things I wanted ..but as for anything on the fishing front i na bucket list..nothing. If a fish is stupid enough to commit suicide on a line i have in the water then it deserves it.

I thought that was top film.

I don't have a set bucketlist, but each year I set new goals for my fishing.

This year's are to catch at least one mangrove jack, 70 fish in total, at least one fish on soft plastics (which I just recently completed) and to learn how to make batter (not exactly a fish, but still fishing related.)

Thanks,
Kaidon

Kaidon, there's an excellent recipe on here for Beer batter (search for it), and it's really simple.. Goes awesome with Flathead!

At the moment, I'd settle for catching anything that's a keeper, then I could die a happy man.

Gawd,.......I probably wouldn't throw a size 10 boot back, if I hooked one. :P

Mind you....

I've heard if you boil those bastards for a year or 2, they get a bit tender. ::)

Catch a legal Barra, preferably 3 to get ahead of the Mrs. Go and fish around Broome, and do a road trip in the U.S. on the bass trail.
Just hope my bank account can catch up with my bucket list.

I have been pretty lucky, I trolled the East Coast of Queensland from Scarborough to Thursday Island at 8 knots, caught some nice spaniards, blue Fin, and long tail tuna, caught Barra in Cairns, some nice muddies at Portland Roads.
Caught a few Mahi Mahi off Brisbane and my PB Cobia of Moreton at 35lbs.
I reckon I wouldn't mind having a go at some game fishing, but if unexpectantly I finished up on the wrong side of the grass I would be a pretty happy man.
What a great movie! it was the inspiration behind my trip to TI, since that movie I also travelled on the Ghan and went on a cruise ship from Brisbane and Vanuatu
and back. That movie did a lot for the tourism industry :)

Always wanted to do the 'Swains Reef' trip - it was something my late father did, but unfortunately I dont have a big enough gang of my own (all my lot have kiddies and therefore money dramas) and the crew that go from my old home town wont have a shiela on board.

One day...one day!

My bucket list does not exist, I have caught enough fish to last several lifetimes but every few months i set myself a new goal to achieve. Currently my goal is a overnight yak fishing session at Mud Island after snapps. Won't be this weekend but it will be before Easter.
My 2nd goal is a jew over 20lb from Redcliffe Peninsula.

I don't care if I do not live long enough to achieve any goals, but I know I will have plenty of enjoyment doing what i love.

Have/Had 4 things on the Bucket List
1. Swains Reef Trip..............Tick that off done it in 2009 going again in 2010
2. Take wife on cruise
3. Go to Melbourne Cup.......Ticking both in late October 2010, booked us on a Melbourne Cup Cruise Newcastle to Sydney To Melbourne To Sydney 8 days.
4. Play a round of Golf at The Royal & Ancient St Andrews in Scotland while the wife is shopping in Paris. Plans are to do this in 7 years time when we both turn the big 50.
