Took the boat out today and gto some screen shots of the new Lowrance Structurescan. Spent more time playing with the side imaging component then the down imaging. This is the standard settings and I have not even played with is yet as I want a base line to work with for future setting changes.
Got some good shots of boulder piles, laydowns deep rock studded banks.
So here are the shots -

Good to see some more playing with them on here.
The downside is you end up doing more fiddling instead of fishing for the first few trips.
I think the trick is cover some 'known' country for a while, play with the settings, then go back over again.......then do it all again. lol

How well do fish show up in the structure scans? What sort of shapes do they produce if they do?
Thinking seriously about side scan this year.

Depends what depth, surrounding structure etc Down scan shows them better but side scan shows them as white flicks etc.
Here are some screen shots from aroudn the world that show what you are after -

The LSS1 uprgarde is around $900 give or take a few dollars but you need a HDS unit to begin with.
