Hey all,
I own a 4.2m tinny with a flat floor built into it. I am having trouble trying to find places to store things like mobiles, wallets and other things that you dont really want to get wet. I have toyed with the idea of enclosing the front nose chamber and putting a little door on there so i can also fit a CD player and VHF into it. The only problem i then have is where to store my life jackets and anchor. If any one has any other ideas on a box i may be able to fit or any pictures of what others have done that would be greatly appreciated. The other option i have is to build a box into the floor and have under floor storage but that is a last resort.
Thanks

This box made out of ply came with my 4.3 abalone and does a good job holding battery, VHF, switchboard etc. Its screwed into the floor and also held by my refreshment holder.

Just need to spend a day not fishing to put new doors/seals on.

The box is the way to go if you want to store lots of things, easy to make and the top half can be insulated with a lid and padded seat. Bottom half for storage. Its just a matter of what size and where to put it.

Other than that I put some wide timber gunnels on mine which gave me plenty of room to add pockets underneath. .........Agree that the underfloor box is a desperate measure for those types of things.

Same deal here, I use a one of those zag plastic boxs as a dry box, store flares, maps, the volume of fishery regs need these days, camera etc over 10 years it has not ever let a drop in, even when everything else gets wringing wet, it's a cheap and easy way out.

cheers fnq

Here's a good thread with tinny layouts and storage.

Thanks guys for the info. I am looking into the water proof bags and box's as we speak. Sometimes i think it would just be easier to buy a bigger boat.

MMM yeah but i was wanting to hard fix things like the VHF and Radio and things into the boat. I got a lot of ideas off the other thread thanks finga. Also might add that i don't have the bench seats that run across my dingy so i cant modify these to store things under.
I am thinking about going and seeing the local boat builder and getting a anchor well put in to start with and see what sort of job he does with that and what he charges.
Thanks all.
