Hi All,
I think I've got the the point of having had enough fun pushing my boat off the trailer.
I currently have center rollers (3 rocker brackets) and 4 twin rollers, 2 on each side. (only a 4.8 meter glass boat).
To make my life easier I have decided I am going to replace the twin rollers with 6 roller brackets.
Does any one have a good suggestion as to where I can buy these?? was thinking of making them myself as they don't look like there is much to them.
and suggestions would be good.
BTW. next time I buy a boat the trailer will be one of the first things I look at. if it doesn't have a hundred rollers I won't be interested
Thanks
Ben

do you have the trailier set up right?
do the center rollers roll under weight?
how old is it?
I had the same problem and I needed to replace the center roller pins replaced them with stainless ones and what a differance.
hope this helps

I agree with Krazy, I would be checking that the set up you have is working as it was designed to. That is rollers rolling and in good nick with the heights all spot on.
Will be interested to know how you go. A mate has his trailer in with mackay at the moment getting the correct height setup.

hey benny, have a look at taking some load off your keel rollers, put the jack under them and drop them slightly. i'm pretty sure with a glass hull the wobble rollers should be taking most of the weight, not the keel rollers. that boat should fly off the trailer with the setup you've got. get yourself a box of new stainless washers and split pins, take a little stool, a wire brush, some grease and some pliers with you down to the ramp, chuck the boat in and pull it up the beach and then back the trailer under a tree and get to it, rip off every roller, clean the shafts grease em up (more for corrosion than lube) and replace with new washers and split pins. you may need a hammer to bang the pins out the centre rollers. try this before you go and spend heaps of coin on new wobble assemblies.

The center rollers should be taking most of the weight will this trailer. do you have single keel roller or doubles. mine had single rollers on the keel and was like yours I changed to double keel rollers and it was like a new trailer

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the help,
the trailer is only 2 years old (I purchased it only 3 months ago, with the boat), I'm pretty sure it is a oceanic GSL-4.8-B but will double check.
originally it only had 4 center keel rollers (including the very front one that doesn't do much) I have replaced the middle 2 of these with double rockers and this made a small difference.
I have installed and ezyguide system (2 months old) at the back after missing the first roller and pulling the boat half way up the steel cross bar.
And as mentioned above there are 2 double wobble rollers on each side.
The spindles are a mixture of galv and zinc coated.
The majority of the weight is on the center rollers with I would say about 10-20% on the wobble rollers.
My thoughts were to but in additional wobble rollers (either quad or 6 set) and but up to 50% of the weight on them. Thinking the more rollers the less weight on each one so the easier the lauch and retrieve.
I will try and get some piccys if I can
Cheers
Ben

i stand corrected then, i always had it in my head that you bias the weight towards the keel rollers for an aluminium hull and towards the side rollers for a glass hull.
