Anyone had any experience with these?
They dont seem to have taken off much? is this due to problems or simply people now buy 4 strokes instead?

good motors, there is heaps around, but because no one has drama, or it is not an e-tec, you never hear about them, they just keep going.

Hey,

I believe the 200hp is near bullet proof.

There has been no end of dramas with the 250hp and 300hp variants though.

Get it inspected first if it's a used boat, or i'd happily buy a 200hp new.

Flex,
A bloke up here has an 8 meter platey and is running twin 150's on it. It hauls arse with supprisingly good fuel economey. He is yet to have a problem with them.

Someone commented on price though.............When I enquiried about buy a 150 HPDI from Bill's Marine I received a rude shock! Basicly too expensive to not warrent buying a four stroke ect. I went with an Opti in the end purely on price as I have a soft spot for Yammies.

For what its worth, I put a 150 on my new cruise craft outsider 575 in 2005..
Put 150 hours on it before I sold it and never missed a beat. No problems in recomending one myslef, although I have heard some peoples stories that dont. Like anything I guess...

Mate has the 250 on a Haines 635l. Great motor. Runs alongside 4 strokes for fuel consumption too.

Hey What's,

Mate, I don't know too much about it, but a Google will bring up oodles of info.

The problems are only based on the 250 and 300 hp engines.

The 150/200 are a great motor by all accounts.

I have a 175, have put 470hrs on it since new in Jul 08, and it has not missed a beat. I look after it and get it serviced regularly, and so far so good. I'd buy another one with confidence.

Cheers.

Bill Corten had a 150 on his 625 outsider that he used for his bar crossing course, If you wanted a good indicator of reliability.

From memory it had about 350 hours or so on it when I did the course, and it went well on the cruiscraft hull.

HOnda.
