guys can i run a common earth wire from nav lights, sounder, stereo, and general lighting back to the battery, from behind the dash?

Yep but if that wire goes out they all go out but it's what most seem to do anyway.

You can but I prefer to bring a main negative up to the fuse panel and then use a link to distribute the negative wires to the accessories.

These have insulated feet also. Some will argue that they are not needed but if they're there they won't hurt.
I always use lanolin grease on the connection too to stop any corrosion that might otherwise occur

scotty, yes thats the idea, just run a main back to the neg on the batty
