Small oppurtunity for a fish and grabbed it with both hands to try some new ground . Leaving the harbour we got out wide past the islands to be greeted with a 1.4 swell with a breeze helping it push up making it hard to travel the further 40 km out but we kepted going.
Swell wasn't much joy as we started our first drift with the Oldman scoring a nice 9.5 kg Red and myself a nice large mouth .

Drift was fast in the swell and current with the 190 foot of water was hard to contend with. 2nd drift was no touches but 3rd seen another 2 reds and a Large mouth boated then couple more attempted had us a good chewing sized cod another red and a largie. Bottom of tide nothing then current stepped up so we headed home.
Gave the new reel a workout too

You seem to do the hard work and effort but also get the rewards. You know what you are doing for sure.
