When I zoom in on the navman 8084 chartplotter sometimes the background goes white. The black track line becomes very pixellated. Is this normal. Also, how do you mark a waypoint quickly from the units face buttons. It all seems a bit fiddly.

Your scaled electronic chart will zoom down to a minimum scale after which it defaults to a white plotter screen whilst still displaying your track and any embedded waypoints.

You have effectively "overzoomed" your chart and defaulted to the plotter screen.

Chartplotter controls and menus/software are not standardised. Normally, the "mark" button will insert a waypoint at your current position allowing you to go in, select the waypoint and edit it. Check your manual.
