I am trying to plan a fishing trip to Fraser Is. in May . Plan on going for 2 weeks. Does anyone know of a reasonably accurate weather prediction for the month of May. I know the weather Bereau has trouble predicting accurately what is going to happen this afternoon so tomorrow would be long range for them, & May will be way too far away for them lol
Do we still have any Long Range Weather Forcasters who are considered reasonably accurate?

Nope not possible at the level you would be looking for, we are in el ninio (boy-child) ATM and the reason for the localised extremes the country is experiencing, was forecast 6 months ago and is within our country's normal climate variation no matter what the zealots spiel.

It will be a hard year to forecast accurately as a direct result.

You pays your money and takes your chances:)

cheers fnq

You might be able to get a Forecast from weatheraction.com - I have no idea what their forecasts cost, but they have a history of getting pretty close. Closer than our boffins, anyway...

Cheers,

If you go on to Elders weather site and bring up the Wide Bay forecast, click on 7 day forecast and then the 12 month forecast they give you a general idea of what is expected AT PRESENT. But their expectations vary a lot from week to week etc. At present they are predicting a lot of winter rain from May to August.

Thanks to everybody for the help. I guess no matter what the weather we will all enjoy the trip, maybe the weather will hold out for us , maybe not. We have had a fair bit of rain the last few years in May & even had to leave the beach last year by order from the Rangers (because of weather , not for playing up) Maybe this year will be different, lets see.
