hi all i dont know any thing about these things 6 mths ago i was given a pres by one of my kids a lowrance x125 but i dont know how to judge the distance from the water level if some one could give some advice i would be gratefull i have a 4.1 tinnie with a bracket on the back but like i said im usless when it coms to this stuff.20 yrs ago i would of known.

There is a recent thread in the boating section on the location of a transducer on a 17HH.

While it is not the same as a tinnie reading it will give you some background info.

I would recommend screwing a sliding unit onto that bracket u have,

There only about $15 from a boating shop, will save u snapping ur transducer off if ur boat is sitting on sand and makes adjustment easier if ur sounder isnt getting the right reading at speed etc. Also make sure the tranducer is sitting in the middle of the bottom ribs on ur boat!

thanks zooter ive just baught a sliding bracket i will fix the problem now mate thanks again so easy now what a d head i was lol tight lines
