hey guys,

i recently saw starlo advertising the fact that you can run a spotlight from the lighting coil on any of yamaha's 2 Stroke Engines.

I have the 25hp 2 stroke and would love to be able to use this feature,
i went through the manual and have searched the internet but just cant find anything on this,

has anyone out there done this..? or know how i can do it,
might have to be in laymans terms as im not much of a mechanic haha

the outboard doesnt have a battery connected to it,
its manual start,

any advice appreciated,

Cheers,

Ben

First thing to do is check if it has a lighting coil.
Has all Yammi's got one or are they optional?
Pick your model out of here and have a bopeep for it

or here (it's a list of motors with the coil)

If it has one it would like part 4 here

Second thing to find out is how many watts or amps can be drawn from the lighting coil. But it seems if it has one then they are rated to 80W so a 50w light should work OK. I personally would not use a lighting coil to the maximum rated output.
