Garmin 400c duel beam vs duel freq

Hi all,

my old 120 garmin has had a gutfull after 6 yr's and time for a new one.

I've been having a look at the 400c, seems good appart from the small screen,

just wondering if anyone could clear up for me the difference between duel beam and the duel freak, and if you have one, which tranny did you get and how do you like the unit overall,

I use the boat in both shallow water (crabbin) and outside the seaway with my usual depth max of 45- 60 mtrs,

Hi mate,

I am not convinced with the 400c. It shares the same pixels as the 300c yet it has a larger screen.

If screen size is not important, the 300c has far better screen quality.

If you can hang 5 for a while, Garmin is about to release a larger stand alone sounder soon.

I would be waiting mate.

sounds interesting, do you have any other info on it or how to look it up?

Last time I took the boat out my sounder seemed to be working, In shallow water anyway, so should be able wait, Thanks for your reply
