I have my Garmin GPS set up in a open boat ,and of late the screen has been fading when the sun hits it and gets really hot,turn it off for awhile and alls good,
Any one else have this problem ?

yes and they dont like it, also below 0 mucks with the screen, realy you should not operate the unit past its upper and lower operating temp, sooner or later it wont work a good as it should

Hey Willo, I agree with smashed crabs, Garmin GPS's do not like being left in the sun. If it is dash mounted such as in a Ram Mount, put a sun cover over it. Dont worry, my Navman 6600 does not like it either.

Any LCD display will fade in sunlight, they over heat!
They will return to normal after cooling down, but I wouldn't want it to happen on a regular basis. As MackeralMan said, put some sort of shade over it.;)
