Hi all,

I'm doing some work in the tinny using plexyglass.

What's a good product to use when joining the stuff?

I've been told araldite, superglue, pvc glue (blue pipe glue) ????

Thanks

MEKP or acetone! and some shavings of the plexy from either a drill or planer.

Throw some shavings of scrap plexy! in a jar, and some acetone or MEKP, let it disovle in and theres you glue.

Might wan't to do some test pieces first to see if it doesn't make the plexy go cloudy like super glue does.

Cheers.

Thanks for the info.

I'll make sure to collect any shaving from cutting/drilling.

Found an unused tube of glue used to built plastic models so I'll give that a go too.

forget Araladite, and Superglue will only glue fingers, Plumbers glue will work, but it is messy and the blue colour can be a pain, there is lots of glues for Acrylic, ask at a good Hardware store, I used to work next door to a place that made artificial limbs and they used a two part glue that ends up as strong as the original material, and it was clear, unsure of the name though, or as mentioned make your own, that works as well.

Acrifix or chloroform - if it can wait till christmas eve, I can bring some home from work. I am at Brighton, PM me if you want some.
