Hi Guys
The old boys got me onto chasing up some info on setting up a new sounder and plotter set up for his kc300 with 08 225 suzuki's and he wants to get the nmea readouts as well. So after reading the thread on the nmea it looks like it is a really good and a relatively simple set up :D
As not all plotters are nmea compatible I am after some opinions on the set ups you guys are running and if you think it is worth hooking it up to a plotter or getting the gauges changed to the Suzuki NMEA 2000 SMIS???? I have been thinking that the sounder would be the furuno 585 but not sure if we will get the 600w or the 1kw transducer(Any opinions on that sounder welcome too) the boat is based at bribie so all of its use is around Morton and wide cal and he likes to fish to 30-60m depth but will go deeper every now and then.
So my question is if you were starting from scratch which way would you go????:-/
