Getting a few bites on live bonito. Nice 60-70kg one Sunday that took just under 2 hours in the 20knots of NE we were in making it difficult.

Jumped one off on the bite early today, maybe had a run from another one and could have bagged on mahi mahi many times over.

Thanks to Shannon for the marlin pics.

Smithy, It is hard work with the current conditions.

I have been out over the Jumpinpin bar on sunday, to be blown back in by morning tea with no result with nothing on the sounder at all. And today we went over the Caloundra bar for 1 x spotty mac, and returned again by lunch time without getting much wider than the shipping channel.

I would love to get my hands on some Mahi Mahi so you can just keep throwing them back as you like. The pics of the marlin look good.

Cheers
Chris

Good one Smithy,
I love the photo of the Marlin on its tail!
What line class was that on? 15?

We stayed in Days Gutter and had a few beers sat/sunday instead with the good 15-20kts, so good effort mate. Friday spoilt us too much to go out when it was windy hahahahaha

Cheers,
Myles

Yep 15kg on charter. Cam was stuffed on that reel so probably only making 3-4kg at sunset but I had Shannon on thumbs the last hour at least and it was just a stubborn fish that didn't really know it was hooked and didn't jump much or do any big runs so was full of beans the whole fight.

Another great report Smithy. What are the dollies chasing? What depth are you trolling in?

Cheers
