Hi All

Just about completed a rebuild on a Merc 115HP and the only thing not real happy with is about half the skeg is missing. I done some google searches and came across a product called a Black Fin skeg protector but could only find re-sellers in the states with them for sale.

Does anyone know if and where they can be purchased in Oz ?.

Thanks and have a Merry Chrissy and Happy New Year.

Regards

Steve

Hi Shano

Nah no pics bit of a computer dope i am.When i seen these Black Fin skeg guards i thought that would do the trick as they attach over the entire skeg but just can't seem to find anyone keeping stock here in Australia.

Thanx

Steve

Just buy it from the states...u would probably have it faster and cheaper than anyone here would do anyway. Chances are that even with freight it'd cheaper than u could get it here due to the chain of outstretched hands hoping to make a buck from it.

I think keelguard do their own skeg protector too...but If its priced anything like they do keelguards here then expect to pay near double what it should be.
Got my xmas pressie early this yr...6ft keelguard for a 16-18fter for US$112...beats the $320-350 they seem to think is fair here.

Protect against ramp dragging, rocks, debris, and submerged objects
Installs easily in less than 10 minutes

Hope this helps.

Hi Steeler

After you have had the skeg welded / repaired you probably dont even need to a protector on it. More to the point you have to get your skeg repaired first even if your still thinking of fitting one of these things. Why not just find a good al welder and get the job done right?

Good luck with it!.

Cheers
