Hi All,

I have just sold my boat & am looking to upgrade into a Mustang 1600 Tournament before XMAS. Would prefer a 4 stroke with low hours, sounder, GPS, clears, bimini, rocket launchers etc.

Thanks,

Bruce

Thanks Stinky, sounds like it was in the right price range, I am still undecided weather to go for an ETEC or 4 stroke.

Has anyone heard that the ETEC does not require its 1st service for 300hours? Thats a bloody long time.

That's no dealer service for 300 hours, you still do the regular stuff like grease the grease points and prop shaft, change fuel filters etc. not much to service at 300 hours water pump, spark plugs and gear oil, like most 2 strokes very simple.

Yes I am used to servicing my (ex) Honda every 100 hours, can get a bit expensive at $350 for the service plus parts plus the other little things they usually find wrong.

Does anyone know how much it would cost to service a 90-115hp 2 stroke ETEC?

On the E-Tec owners group web site an Oz dealer confirmed for an I3 E-Tec they charge $380 to $450. $450 is if they have to de-salt the block as some owners don't look after their motors as they should.

Makes sense, call me paranoid but I must say it makes me a little sceptical when they are willing to offer different warranties depending on if you use the motor in freshwater only or not.

I have had some good responses from this tread regarding boats for sale so thanks to everyone who has responded so far.

Anymore Mustang's for sale out there? Test drove a 1750 on Friday and was very impressed with the ride in 1.5m swell out the front of Bribie.

Any ideas on how many hours you can put on a Johnson 4 stroke?
