I have 3 sets led's on my boat, got them off ebay for a bargain ( i think it was 21 bucks posted for the 3.). Nothing wrong with them.

If youur interested in setting up your whole deck with good led lighting and and not having stray light affect your night vision as the light is all under the gunnels,, then check this site out..

I was just about to do a search on here for similar discussion last year - but the guys got some blue strip led's to put under the gunnel.
Any suggestions where I can mail order them?

I'd go with red if you want a coloured light strip, as red is much better for preserving night vision.

I found these on Ebay last year and have had no trouble with them. Same as JABBA I've got them hidden under the gunnels one strip on each side, lights the whole deck, looks awesome. Was initially jubious about buying from Ebay without seeing them first.. but very impressed, well made product 100% waterproof.

Jaycar / electus have a range of LED products.

one thing that is quite handy is a chain of 3 led modules linked up with fig8 wire....cant remember how many but the chain is about a meter long and has a epoxy encapsulated 3 led module every...ooo 200mm.

the modules have self adhsive tape on the back

so you can just stick em up under the gunwals and you can link strings together.

they also have printed circuit strip with surface mount leds on them that can be used whole, cut up or linked together.....you will need to make some sort of housing like a length of thin acrillic tube, but they are good for conversions.

there is quite a lot of this stuff arround....Bias have a new range of LED stuff.

I got a good under canopy strip of leds from Whitworths.
They also have a lot of other marine lamps.

blue isn't all that good for the night vision.... red is much better, submarines have red/white fixtures for that reason.
Blue is used in theater as back stage work light because it does not show out front as much.... but it isn't as good to see by as red.

whitworths have a red and white circular fixture available wit and with out switch built in.
