G'day

Most manufacturers will have a tiller kit for the larger hp engines. Just ask.

yeah nick, Matt's in Townsville.

Why not get a little side console made up Matt? Will take up bugger all room and you can put your sounder, gps etc on it with a bit of protection, just big enough to fit a steering wheel and a battery, like Ronnie's. Will also make longer distances easier on you.

don't go there ,like that cat with a 250 tiller. there only temporary australians. ive seen cable steering let go in our chops up here . so what chance would you have of holding it none

I thought the steering was servo assisted on big engines in effect no heavier or harder to control but slower than a 40hp.

Earlier on what was considered a large engine (nothing like that 250hp) some sort of mechanical dampening arrangement was used and it worked well too I understand but never drove one.

cheers fnq

The 250 tiller steer you see on this boat is actually hyd. it has a pump system setu to it. No different to the steering on your boats now.
