Had a mishap today at Peel, forgot to shorten the painter on the tender and ended up with it wrapped around the duo prop on the volvo.

Now I only have forward gear, no neutral or reverse. Got back to Manly Leads and tried to engage reverse and all that happened was that the boat accelerated forward. Had to get Coast Guard to help me dock as the only way to stop going forward was to turn of the motor....What a great bunch of guy's...

Any idea's on what is broken.....

If it was me I'd PM BM. (Nick)

Your right about Coast guard (and VMR) Good to get great help when you need it.

Good luck with it hope its not too expensive and that BOAT is not the case this time.

Cheers

Is there some rope still around the props??
If there is then there might be pre-load on the props that will not allow the gearbox to change into neutral.
You know....like trying to pull the gear lever in the car out of 3rd whilst your pulling up Mt Cootha....it's hard to do.

I removed all the rope before leaving Peel to head back to Manly

Might be worth checking all your linkages from throttle to your gearbox as well.Tough break.Jim
