Has anyone set one of these up? Having some grief getting right revs out of engine (etec 150 new) and another thread here suggested seeing if there was a "sister ship" out there in Ausfish land:-/

Nice rig there KC. Do you have the engine at the correct height? See this for further info. http://www.veradoclub.com/smf/index.php?topic=137.0
I would also contact Ken at propgods http://www.propgods.com/content/index.aspx he has a forum there you can ask him questions on. As it is a yank boat he should have set a few up.

Cheers and good luck with it mate.

Thanks Ron,

I have talked to the dealer again today after taking some advice on another thread. We will raise it up a notch and I will also get all the prop specs etc ready to follow up if this still doesn't get the revs up. Nothing wrong with performance as is but some comments on another thread from guys who seem to know there stuff indicate I may actually be doing damage to a new motor if it is not running at right rev range. Only get 4950 WOT from a 150 etec. I love the boat ( 2nd hand 2002 model) but the new motor was a fair spend and would be horrified if I was doing it internal damage.

Hi again Ron,

The Verado Club link has taught me more about set up than anything I have ever seen, and all easy to understand. I will go to the dealer much better informed.

KC
you will notice a difference in fuel consumption ,noise and performance when you get the motor height and the prop correct for the boat

Interesting to see how it ends up. I am pretty sure now it is too low in the water (after looking at the picks on the verado club site). Fuel consumption seems pretty good at cruising revs, based on what I see other guys getting but it does get a bit thirsty at speed. Also expecting a fair bit more top end speed in any case. Full tilt is 41 MPH at 4950 RPM and specs published in US on the hull with 150 Merc say WOT should get 47MPH.

Be sure to let us know how you go with it KC.

Hi Ron,

Will do but am working 2 threads at once so will concentrate on the etec thread. FYI. Checked today and motor is already as high as it will go. I will be posting data now that I am better informed. This part of Ausfish is a godsend.

I don't have the same boat , I have a Trophy 2002WA , bigger and much heavier boat , she weighs around the 1700 kg without fluids and gear .
I have a 200 Optimax on the back and I spin an Enertia 18" prop , I'm getting around the 50mph at WOT and about 5600 rpm . I was using a 19" Vengance prop before and I was only getting about 5200rpm and around 46 mph.
I'm using about 09-1 mile per lt with 3-4 on board some gear and 320lt fuel cruising at about 4000-4500 rpm and about 1.2lt per hour at 500-600 rpm .

I have to say the prop I'm using now made a lot of difference well worth the $1000 .

Make sure your motor is set up at the right height, play around with different props and trim . You should be getting a lot more RPM at WOT , at 4950 you are loading up your motor to much .
If you have trim tabs on the boat trim them right up so you get the bow up .

Try some of the USA forums or email USA dealers to see what props they use on your boat , the only problem is they are all powered by Mercs but should be about the same . Merc is 2.5 lt and E-tech is 2.6 not much in it at all.
150HP Mercs have a 1.85 box E-techs have 1.87 so almost the same . My 200 has 1.75 . I would think you need a good 17,18 or 19" prop , depending on the load you carry.
