Have a cruise craft ranger 18 i'm doing up its been a big project
not sure on what to go with. do hull extension.
or just bye a pod and bolt it on.
Done heaps of search's found heaps of info on pods but not much on how
people do hull extensions. Do they extend stringers though the transom
or is it a bolt on pod then fibre glassed in?
The boat was a inboard so has no transom in it at moment.
so was thinking of taking the stringers all the way back.
don't mind doing the hard work so its write.
otherwise if there is someone around brisbane that makes pods
might be in the market for one send me a PM with your details.
any help would be much appreciated.
thanks dan.

G'Day Nut;D

Go for a hull extension, only way to go to keep the characteristics of the boat.

PM Spaniard King, he knows someone who does quality glass ones.

Cheers

i have a haines 565l and after going out on two others with pods and not likeing the ride i put a full alloy hull extension bolted on back like pod, fantastic outcome and i was totally happy until i saw business class's boat.

most after market/home made hull extension pods are added later, there is no stringer system, you just make up a bolt on pod like you would buy, but it is custom made to suit your boat and motor shaft length, not all that difficult really, just a lot of mucking around, which if you get someone to make it, will cost a bit because of the time required.
