Can any one tell me the rules, Of were and when, you must wear a life jacket.
l was told by a freind of a freind got pinched for taking of his life jacket as he was beaching his boat.
The officers stated that he was still moving and there for [BOOKED].
I know you must ware one when crossing a bar.
But whats the go if you are fishing at say the Southport Seaway
I havent done this for many a year now, If i do.
Do I have to ware a life jacket.
Is there a site were the rules are put out in a easy to read form.[AUSFISH].

Only legal when crossing a bar , or 400 metres from shore in a canoe or kayak in NSW.They only recommend that a child under 12 or the elderly wear at jacket at all times, but IMO i think your a fool if you dont make you kids wear a jacket at all times while boating!

Compulsory wearing of life jackets
It is compulsory to wear a life jacket:

when crossing a coastal bar in an open boat that is less than 4.8 m in length
if you are under the age of 12 in an open boat that is less than 4.8 m in length, while it is under way.
straight from msq wed site, for qld
