It depends where I am.

Saltwater for me, but very very occasionally I will have a go in the fresh, not enough to warrant me to claim I am a fresh water fisho though.

Does a "Kiss & release" policy apply for a Trickett ? ;)

Was looking at some DPI research and it showed a bit of a trend away from purely salt water fishing.

And I was just wondering if the trend continued up until now.

Saltwater Only- 1996 70.9%
1998 69.2%
2001 66.2%

Fresh & Salt 1996 21.4%
1998 23.2%
2001 25.0%

fresh for sport, salt for food.

Amen! If you live on the coast, why eat a sooty, bass or freshwater barra when they're so much more fun to catch than they are to eat? I'll stick with saltwater foodfish, I reckon.

Salty food is better but I don't mind a freshly caught stream barra, bass, sooty or sleepy cod on the fire when you're out camping in the Big Brown (as opposed to the Big Blue).

If you're making the fire I'll give it a go! :)

i thought the only reason you fish the fresh is because you are too far from the salt;)

Saltwater if the weather is good......Freshwater if the weather is crapolla, or I can't be bothered putting the tinny in the water.;D

hey everyone, I have to say I love them both each has its own appeal. But then again I'd fish in the bath tub if i thought there was something in there.

Both great but catching a 50+ cm bass on light gear has a particular thrill.
