What a great start to the day. Ryan called in at 3.30 am as planned and we took off to the Kawana ramp.
We ran around towards Murphys in search of some livies but found only these 2 little bug eyed fish. Does anyone know if they are worthy as a bait as we could not seem to sell them all day.
Running out to our first spot we found the going fair at 19 knotts and competed with a fellow fisherman for the spot as we took it in turn to drift the area. Nothin was forthcoming so we moved three more times before falling just short of the Barwon Banks where I hooked 2 great snaps at 64cm and 54cm. Ryan seemed to still struggle with the deep conditions, being more in tune with Flatties and Bream in the Brisbane River. Conditions were very comfortable when a stiff wind blew up and we high tailed back to Murphys to end the day in Near Glass conditions. I certainly could have taken a few more hours out at the Banks to search for more snaps.
The day ended with only the 2 snapper, 1 Pearl perch, 2 x Parrot.
A feed for both of us and a couple of Whale sightings too.
You have to admire the Red emperors colours. Thanks Ryan for helping to enjoy a top day.
Cheers
Chris
I forgot to take a photo of the fish before Filleting but Ryan did get a quick pic.
