Hey Guys,

Just got back from the USA, and being the boat nut I am, got some good pics of their boating world, so I thought i'd share them for those interested.

Pic 1 - Trailerboating US Style - F350 Dual wheel towing a 36ft Carrera "trailerboat". I also saw a 42 foot Yellowfin being towed, but didn't have the camera at the time.

The same boat ramp, less than 30 minutes later after a storm rolled in.

And people complain about our facilities!

There were smaller cars which had water about a quarter the way up the doors.

This ramp was about +6 lanes wide, and had about 3 acres of parking by the way, and was completely full late on a Sunday afternoon.

Law enforcement USA style.

This boat belonged to their version of boating and fisheries, looking after Key Largo in the Florida Keys.

Some of the reasons boating is so great over there.

We were in the USA for 4 weeks, and apart from the late afternoon storms (every day which lasted a couple of hours), we never saw the water get any rougher than this. We asked the local boaties, and they said it's always like this.

And the start of a the days end storms. The sun doesn't go down there until about 2030, putting this pic at about 2100 at night.

Thanks for posting the pics Darren, makes for interesting viewing. And there I was thinking I was pushing the envelope, wanting to use my Mustang as a trailer boat:D

I now c why centre consoles are so popular over there. Its amazing the size of the boats they can legally tow over there.

No, the boat alone is a 36 foot Carrera, then plus the trailer and the truck.

Guy's he just happened to be in the right place at the right time of year .
The Gulf of Mexico [ Texas to Florida ] where I fish can be code no joy most of the time [ 2 to 4's ....2 to 3 seconds apart coming from two directions ] .

We can tow some very big Boats but we have to buy permits and travel accordingly with anything over about 28 feet , Legally .

My pacific 23 and old F350 crew cab going down the road is 53 feet long, with my new Dodge/Cummins I'm right at 50 feet total. A friend of mine , Jay Perrotta , Just came out with a new ride . It's a 34 Foot ALLOY CC with twin F350's on her and can take THREE , yep 1050 HORSE POWER. She can be seen on my Site in my Sig Line or at , www.rocksaltboats.com (http://www.rocksaltboats.com) , This thing is a BEAST and they will build it any way you want and with what ever power you want.

Boatboy, glad you had a good trip and come back anytime.

Oh yeah, Most of our country is patrolled by Ribbed or ALLOY boats .

mate - a 50 cal would weigh mine down too much. I would settle for an SLR on a tripod to look the part, along with my pirate flag...but alas we are not so tolerant of lead chuckers :)
