Hi Mindi

Bill Coreton, suggests that spending more money on an EPIRB is a better way to go. This was just one of the reasons that these guys got rescued quickly.

The GPS's that he talks about cost around $600. $130 dollars differnece is a small price to pay for safety.

Melb boat show on soon. Just look up exhibitors list or local shops down there as they run specials to try and get some $$ over the counter.

Whitworths also run their 15% off every year if you spend more than $1000 on top of other discounts so if 2 people need them your in with a chance. Only counts for stock on hand though usually

Absolutely Cormorant.... I bet they suddenly become about $300 when the startup demand all disappears.

They have pulled the perfect swindle and I don't think there is true competition so prices aren't likely to go down as retailers are desperate for full margin products in slow times.

Don't mind em Making a profit but with probably 130000 registered in Aus alone and 5 year life they have a captive legislated market. I think some people are going to get a surprise as batttery replacement prices increase. Nearly one for a ACCC submission and let the toothless tiger loose.
