starting to get a bit of a collection of busted sticks is it worth getting them repaired or should I give them to my mate to use the old guides etc?
one is a live fibre spin rod snapped about ten inches from the top and the other is a mitchell baitcaster snapped about four inches from the top. any thoughts before I hoik them would be appreciated. cheers Andrew

Or give them to Ian and a blank so he can make you a new rod out of the bits. :)

Personally I'd keep them and wait for a rod to break at the bottom end and make a two piecer.

Good question, I have kept my snapped rods until I get sick of seeing them and reminding me of that sad day. Then I just chuck it out. I have been replacing the snapped rod with a loomis so the next time I break it the replacement cost is not as scary. I thought the guides would be worth keeping but I did not think the reel seat and butt was reuasable. Would it be better to get a custom rod made up with the reusable parts.

Cheers Frank OO I like your advice and will be planting the money tree tomorrow! just got to find some good fertilizer!

The original S10H hasn`t really had a decent workout yet, but for throwin baits around the bay I don`t think it justifies another egrell. Just a decent seven foot snapper stick will do me.
cheers everyone and thanx for the reply`s.
I think I might sacrifice the lot to the god`s of fishing... anyone coming over for a rum and bonfire?:)

Cheers Andrew

at the very worst, cut the guides off it for spares.....I am afraid that if a blank has that much snapped of it, it is virtually useless. Always handy having a few guides for spares though.

Cheers for the input but I gave them to my mate from work to do as he pleases, if I need a new guide i`m sure he`ll help me out. Cheers Andrew
