I'm opposite the old Power Station on the river. We still have a lot of large rubbish, branches etc floating past.

A lot of it is being dragged off the high areas at the change of the tide and being swept down and out of the river.

Not sure about up towards the mouth, only what is comeing past us.

I left from the port for a trip inot the bay on Wednesday and though there is a little bit of stuff like little branches etc still in the water it looked pretty good to me, i didnt see any big bits that were potential problems to small boats. The river was still however a very dirty brown colour even on the run in tide. It was like this all the way out to the western side of mud, i didnt hit any cleaner water until i got around to the east side.

Was watching the trawlers this morning.

Lots of flotsom trailing along in their wake. they were also lifting their nets a lot and picking out branches etc.

IMHO it will take a couple more high tides to get rid of the branches. I haven''t seen any cleanup crews going up and down the river yet.
