I am looking to purchase a new fishing boat, only need something small as will be in smooth and partially smooth waters only. I want to look at ones that have good casting decks and there will only ever be two people in the boat at one time. Could anyone recommend some brand's and models I should be looking at. Thanks in advance.

what price point???

There are several manufacturers you can look at. I would recommend a V-Nose hull like a quintrx hornet etc Great smooth water designs and excellent casting room for two people.

Just depends on what your budget is???

Tabs Bullshark, 4.20 under 20k. Great boat, side console as well. Try Tanner Marine at Tweed Heads, they had a special on them with a 50 or 60 4 stroke Yammie, looked really good, just wish I had the spare $$$.

Thanks. I looked at the Tabs website and really liked the look of the Wildfisher http://www.tabsboats.com.au/page.php/boat_range/22_Wildfisher.html

Would this be ok on the Broadwater?

DigitalSI,
I was going to suggest Viper, but I see HR beat me to it.... Even used the thread of my boat!
Seriously though, give Phil @ Viper a call (0405 710 846)
He also builds one in the 4.5m range too.

You have a million options out there for boats, Viper or not. Phil will build it/fit it out exactly to you needs and/or wants. You'd be crazy not to at least talk to him. I'm certainly glad I did ;D
And I think you might be pleasantly surprised on the price too.....

I Have seen the sea jay nomad 4.65 viper at the boat show last year looks like a well fitted out rig but i would think it would be getting up in price as there is a lot of standard inclusions. I have been in a mates 4.4 nomad and its a great boat but haven't been in the bigger ones. I saw a Sea Jay 4.65 Nomad Discovery sports in at stones corner marine the other day when i was in there haven a look around. Looked like the same hull as the viper just with a bit more basic lay out still had cast platforms and stuff in it, and its a side console mite be worth a look.

Definately would look at something near new, as long as it has been looked after. No point investing money in to someone elses problem.
