Rear Grip size

Interested in fellow Ausfishers opinion of what lenght Rear Grip they prefer on a 7ft 10kg SP spin stick ,
And your opinion on cork grips over Eva

Hi Willo,

I've just started building a very similar rod but this is only rod build number 4 so I may not be giving the best advise.:-/

I have gone for an Eva grip as I'm a bit scared to try cork yet ( I own a shop bought 7' spin stick with cork so this is a bit of an experiment comparing the two). The distance from rear of butt to center of reel seat is 295mm. The shop bought rod has a distance os 260mm from butt to center of reel seat but it is a slightly lighter actioned blank.

My thinking is with a short foregrip and a faster action blank I could get the reel seat a bit higher to get a bit more leverage with the faster blank while fishing.

On another note I managed to get out for a fish the other week finally and caught a nice 2.5/3kg Pearlie on the first rod I built and that was a bloody good feeling.
