Hi all,
I'm a pretty inexperienced rodbuilder, and am just about to embark on a new project - PE3/4 jigging rod. I was wondering if there was anyone located in the inner north of Brisbane (I'm in Newmarket) that would be interested in helping me out with some silly quastions on runner placement etc.
Thanks,
Simon

Hi Simon,
I am just a bit further away than that (Townsville) so cant do anything in person....but I have built heaps of rods and would be happy to help. Mind you on these forums there are some very experienced and gun rod builders who are closer to your home..
good luck...Mike

We need more information regarding the blank before anyone can really help you. The information needed is the length of the rod, overhead or spin, what size reel, and most important of all is the action of the blank. Once you have this info we can get the ball rolling. If you like to drive you can come up to my place on the Sunshine Coast and I can space the guides out and set the rod out before you build and bind at no charge, happy to help.

Guys,
Sorry about not replying, but I had given up on this post awhile ago.
I'm reasonable advanced with the rod now, so thanks for your offers of assistance. I'll try to finish by myself, but if the sh#@! hits the fan it sounds like I should talk to Stuart.
As an aside I need some help with the glossing of the blank (I don't have the gear). Is there anyone out there that would do this for a fee?
Thanks again,
Simon
