does anyone know of any "ready to assemble" type kits to build a rod with. not looking for anything flash just something to "have a go" at.

i dunno what i will need so something that has evrything and some instructions would be sweet

if you go to mo tackle.com.au they have kits ranging from about 50 bucks to a couple hundred they come with measurment grips eyes reel seats everything you need to complete the rod

Benny, there is probably a " rod building weekend ' coming up very soon.

It will be in Brisbane and we'll have a professional rod builder as instructor.

i got a kit delivered from mOOtackle because it has everything u need to build a rod. but there is no thread or varnish etc or instructions. im pissed i got all these bits and no idea what to do with them

Someone might be able to give pointers or lend you a Docski movie or two.
