Got out every half chance I could take the last week. 11 caught, at least that amount lost. Untold mack tuna, heaps of fin. Other captures on the troll have been a black marlin, a kingy, a rainbow runner, long toms, skipjack tunas and bonitos. Alvin Lim is the only guy from the chatboards I have taken out in this period. Plenty of big seas and plenty of seasickness but the rewards have been worth it.

Some cracker Hoos there Smithy! There were 2 calm morning last week with big swells that I had to take advantage of on my surfboard - I am sure you fished these days. What did the biggest Hoo weigh? The Reefies should be firing up soon pumped for a run out wide!
Cheers,
Benny.

For those that asked,

The guy with the blue shirt and hat holding up the black, Mark; well his son Jarrod got one that I am guessing went 18kg. Mark might be holding it up in that one picture. Can't remember. If not it is one I called for 14kg. I weighed a 12kg on certified scales a few weeks ago so have a bit of a feel for them at that size. Yesterday's was 12kg, had a day of 3x10-12kg ones but a lot have been 14-16kg. Had some much bigger ones on that have been too good for us too.

JT,

wondered where he got too. That would explain it. Especially as this season has been so good. I read your story about hooking the sail. You will have to go out gunning for them but ditch the braid for trolling.

Lido,

no bottom bashing for a few weeks. I have been running in over a lot of my good marks and having a quick look and not seeing anything on the sounder to get too excited about. Looks like we need the water to cool off a whole lot more.

Rob,

They come in close enough alright.
I got my recent one in much closer to the headland than I would have imagined.

Been hooking a couple of these but finally got one to the boat yesterday and on 8kg line to boot. Lost one to the boat and hooks have pulled on a couple of others.

Brooksy with one on Kym's 26' Grady White Tigercat Scalded.

After two attempts I still only got this low res shot of Jarrods fish which may not look it but is the biggest one of them I am pretty sure unless he is helping out holding his dad's first fish.
