fish finders

Hi all , i'm a bit new to these fish finders and would like some info on them i have a hummingbird 210, the chart speed what speed do you use do you put it on fast when the boat is going fast and 0 when you are stopped and any other info would be helpful .Jeff

I recommend a book called "Depth Sounder Secrets" by Rick Huckstepp ISBN 186513103-2. It helped me to understand what the devil I was looking at and to interpret the soundings. It takes a while and that means going Fishing lots of times Hehe! One thing I will say is the higher the resolution the better the picture (obviously) but it makes it so much easier to SEE what is being displayed.
The only regret I have is not buying a colour sounder......the ultimate is a side scanning rig. I can only dream!
