Hi All,

Just purchased a mini NG Stree Free winch (free fall) to install on my Stabicraft 589. This boat has a small anchor well and the winch install is not so straight forward. Nevertheless, the job was completed and I post all the pictures and appropriate captions for all to peruse at their leisure.
All up, it took 3 man days (2 of us) and about $100 bucks worth of extras.

I hope that any of you find this helpful, I couldnt find anything on the web to help me do the install. Hopefully these notes will make the 3 man days less painfull.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Cheers

Mate , a top report. Looks like it could be used by the manufacturer,
I particularly like photo 16 with the smiling mugs of the installers.
Well done and thanks for sharing

Mate buy one of the stress free rollers and mount it about half way along the stem of your SARCA anchor. It will give a downward angle on the anchor and make it fall straight off when you flick the switch

Good stuff, thought I might do the same but them the winch would be worth more than the boat. ;D

How much rope fits on the winch and how well does the rope lay on the winch during use.
