Hey Guys,
Please, no speculation or damaging thoughts. Please just post known facts.
I heard from a very reputable source (otherwise I wouldn't post it) that Trailcraft has been bought out and saved by a very well known pressed aluminium boat builder based in Qld.
I have no idea what their intentions are or whether they plan to continue building Trailcraft as they were.
Does anyone else have any info on this buyout?
Regards
Darren

Hey Roy,
I've seen the post and knew they have been shut down. That thread says nothing about Trailcraft continueing to operate, and only says they are closed for good.
I'm told otherwise now.
Does anyone know for a fact the situation?

Hey D,
On a scale of 1-10 how reputable is your source and how did he/she receive said information?
20 Questions starts now.
1. Does it start with a T? ;D

Hey Black,
A very reputable source within the industry (10), and no need to lie. IE a supplier to both, not competition to either party.
I have no reason to think it is made up. It's not a damaging rumour to either party. More a good news story for the industry and former staff if it's correct.
I just wanted to hear it from a second source before I mention the name.

Here's hoping that the brand stays in tact and pulls through with some extra backing.

Sorry to hear that Searay, but reading between the lines it sounds like something positive might be in the wings

I have heard the same thing i hope it happens but the only thing is that if it does the workers in wa will be stuffed still as it will re open in the gold coast area if it happens. Which will be sad as a member of a union i feel for guys like boat builders that don't have a union to back them up in these hard times. So lets hope it happens and they keep it wa and look after the worker for a change.

Hey Guys,
My thoughts are that they will leave the Perth manufacturing plant open (it's made for manufacturing aluminium boats and is well set up) and manufacture Quintrex, Stacer and Trailcraft out of the same factory to eliminate transport costs for their WA markets.
I would think they will also start building Trailcraft on the Gold Coast for the East Coast market.

Lets also hope TABS can work their way out of their problems.
They build a fairly good boat.
