We've started taking our 17 month old out on the boat and feel a bit vulnerable in the dingy (2.3m / 4hp outboard) as it's tiny and won't plane with more than 1 person in it. My wife's insisting I get something bigger and fast enough to get out of the way of other boats, is a 3 metre inflatable with a 15hp going to go alright with 3 people in it?

G'day

Yes, it will fly. Assuming it's a rigid hull?

Hi Dave,

Have been looking at the soft hull ones as they seem a bit lighter than the ribs for for getting up on the duckboard.

Are you at horizon shores any time soon? I need to get my boat detailed again.

G'day

Could make a trip down there early next week, give me a call. 0421 802 691

The rigid hull ones would be better rated to your intended horsepower, and are easy enough to get up to the duck board, have you considered some snap davits?
