Does anyone know about boat over-turning on Caloundra bar this morning?

I know there were 2 onboard and they got to shore safely, heard they had motor problems on their way across with a bit of swell rolling in.:'(

Boat was dragged in near Kings Beach groin, some gear salvaged, then righted by some helping hands , man handled back towards Happy Valley, where it was towed back inside bar by Coast Gaurd.

Must have been fairly good early, then picked up as a couple of small tinnies came back in as a couple of larger ones were heading out.

At least boat was insured and everyone okay!

Good work by those who helped out:)

Cheers Deefa

saw the end of it happen with the people being rescued and boat floating back to shore. saw them tow the boat back in as i was fishing on the boardwalk, seemed pretty smashed up.

It looks like a Quintrex or similar, they have a nasty tendency of broaching in a following or quartering sea. It's something to be aware of, and if you're smart you don't chance it if the weather is crap like today.

Conditions don't look very inviting for a crossing on that bar!!
