Finally after what could be only described as a chaotic week, I have finished off the new seat for Jaimes kayak. A 'sort of' copy of the one I bought, but with a few differences. The lumber support area is wider, which gives more support around the kidneys and so on. The backrest height has also been increased, giving even more back support. On the next one, I am going to make the height just below the bottom of my shoulder blades. This should make things even better.

The grey material is a marine based upholstery vinyl...the same stuff they use on jetski seats. Inside is 5mm closed cell foam. Now I move onto the next addition/modification...what that is exactly, I dont know, but I dare say it wont be too far away.

Hi Leigh. That is a great looking seat mate.
I have two Viking seats and although they offer good back support the bttom seat section is pretty hard on the bum after a short time.

Looks great.
If you are going to make more how much would you sell them for?

I have since made yet another prototype, but this one has a pouch on the back that easily holds the bladder of a 2ltr camelback. I am currently working out final prices for these as I don intend to put them on my website.

I have a 5 day fishing trip starting tomorrow though, so it will have to wait until next week sometime.

After a lot more tinkering, adjusting and a few field tests, the final product is now available. Check out the details in my sigline for where to find out more information, and place an order.

Thanks in advance,

Leigh.
