I'm interested in a Cruise Craft Outsider 575 mounted with a 150hp 4 stroke Yamaha. I just wondred if anyone could tell me if it would have the acceleration needed to pull an adult water skier up on a mono ski from a deep water start with a couple of other people on the boat?

Cheers!

Should not be a problem with the right prop and motor height. It is not like as if it is a tinnie with a 30 horse motor. That could be a bit questionable.

I have a Explorer and the guy before me was using it mostly for sking had done 75 hours in freash and 5 in salt was reason it was so emaculate conditon ... When the weather turns nasty in summer up here i have seen 5 different cruisecrafts in the river sking and wake boarding . You shouldn't have to many worries mate at all

That's got to be enough horses for a 575, surely. My 685 must weigh twice as much, and it bolts along (great holeshot too) on a 250.

I pull my 2 teenage sons (150kg) on their knee boards with three adults on board and one 11yr old no worries.

No drama at all. had a 575 Outsider with a merc 150 efi. At the time (2002 model) it was the max horsepower you could put on it. Great boat.

My brother in law has a 575 outsider with a 150 yam 4 stroke on it,
Its used for fishing and skiing.its got tons of stick out of the hole,You will definatley have enough power to do what you asked.

He also has a really neat stainless ski pole setup .The base is mounted under the bait board so when you want to ski you just remove the bait board and put the top on the pole and away you go,I can find out who built it for him if you like.

Hey, thanks for all your help guys, I really appreciate it. No good asking the dealers, they seem to just tell you what they think you want to hear. How did we ever manage without forums? ;)

Hopefully I'll be able to post a picture of my new boat soon. Still not sure what it will be, I walked into a Whittley dealer today and really liked the 2100 Walk Around....

Cheers!

BB, the Clearwater 2100 is a yanky hull, and quite a bit different in shape at the bow (more bluff) compared to other boats you have mentioned, and indeed other Whittley hulls.

Into a head sea/nasty chop (like from the Fr Dr) you will need to slow down as it will bang and ride more harshly. Downwind it will be fine.
