Went out on the weekend and just out from the ramp at 4200rpm the engine check indicator came on (the engine icon). There was no over temp or low oil pressure alarm or indicators and the motor didn't faulter at all. As soon as I noticed and throttled back to idle the indicator (engine icon) flickered and went out.

There was a bit of weed around the ramp and i did notice that the speedo was slow to register while heading out but it came good - which I put down to a bit of weed over the pitot.

I am thinking that there was some weed also over the intakes that set off a low water pressure warning but not enough to cause overheat and/or limp home mode to be engaged and when I stopped it fell away.

I had no further ECM indications and the motor continued to run faultlessley for the rest of the day.

Would this be your conclusion or is it worth a trip to the Yamaha dealer to check the ECM history to confirm what caused the alarm?

Cheers
