heading to airlie next saturday for 8 days, plenty of fishing & drinking to be done in this time. Taking a 5.4 metre boat with 115 on the back. Any tips on current hot spots would be appreciated. Anyone wanting to give up the special local marks would also be good.

Jigging in mackerel bay is awesome,Also very good bottom bashing as you need a decent boat to fish it usually and your would be sweet. as their can be a bit of a swell there at times.Sound around until you find some bait.

Hill inlet on an incomming tide early morning is great, good for golden trevally, queenies

eastern edge of Hook passage before sun hits the water for Huge GT's.. Stop here for a quick popper fish for 30mins on your way to mackerel bay.

Anywhere along the eastern edge of Whitsunday Island is good aswell.

On a good day theres a patch of reef about 15km east of hook island you can try, depending on how confident you are in your boat.
